This project technically had two clients: Nuit Blanche and City of Toronto. The two clients wanted completely opposing final products.
City of Toronto needed ads that were informative and followed countless legal requirements relating to to logos, language, and colour. Nuit Blanche needed ads that were artistic, mysterious, and ephemerally beautiful. Both agreed that these ads should seem timeless and be usable for multiple years, regardless of the year’s Nuit Blanche theme.
I helped come up with the visual idea and style. I also wrote the line “Go where the art takes you”.
